My story
"Killed in Action." With other members of his gun crew, he went forward with the last wave of the infantry during an attack on enemy positions South of Passchendaele on the early morning of October 31st, 1917. The gun he was serving was placed in the new support line, and while eating his breakfast at about 8.00A.M. an enemy shell struck the trench instantly killing him and two comrades.
