My story
"Killed in Action." During the operations at Passchendaele Ridge on November 7th, 1917, his Battalion was in support to the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade which comprised part of the attacking force. Stretcher parties were also supplied and Pte. Russell, while engaged in assisting to clear the forward area of wounded, was struck in the heart by a piece of shrapnel and instantly died.
