My story
"Killed in Action." While on duty with three comrades in a sap in advance of our front line near Maple Copse the enemy bombarded our lines heavily and the position these men occupied was one of their targets. The sap was completely demolished and all four men killed. The bodies were buried by the shelling and for the five succeeding days the enemy kept up such a bombardment that it was not possible for any one to go out and recover them.
