My story
"Killed in Action." He was in a trench at Bellewaarde Lake when about 3.30 A.M. the enemy commenced a bombardment which lasted until about 5.30 A.M. The order was given to retire if possible and when Pte. Jephson with others was making his way through the communication trench he was hit in the left side of his face and the left arm by pieces of a shell and died almost instantly.
