My story
"Killed in Action." Whilst in Fire Trench, East of Bellewaarde Lake, about 3 miles South East of Ypres, early in the day of May 8th 1915, he was killed by a rifle bullet. His Battalion was relieved before day light, the relief Battalion withdrawing to new trenches. The Fire Trench was left in the hands of the enemy and it was impossible to recover his body.
