My story
"Killed in Action." He took part with his regiment in the battle at Belllewaarde Lake near Ypres, and was killed by the explosion of an enemy shell. Comrades who saw the nature of the wounds on his body surmised that death mu St have taken place immediately. Owing to the intensity of the engagement and the fact that the trench in which he was killed passed temporarly into the possession of the enemy, his body could not then be taken out for burial.
