Mijn verhaal
The 1st Canadian Infantry were tasked to take Mosselmarkt on the 6th November 1917. The jumping off line was on the Bellevue-Meetcheele spur. They attacked across a stronghold named Graf House. The battalion encountered heavy machinegun fire and artillery and many soldiers got lost crossing this field of open ground. George was presumably killed in this attack and his body was never found.
