Mijn verhaal
"Previously reported Missing now "Killed in Action." He was a Battallion Scout and during the attack on Passchendaele Ridge on the morning of October 30th, 1917, he, in company with two other Scouts was held in reserve in a trench a short distance behind the line. After the enemy retaliation to the attack had died down, no trace of hem could be found. A search was made in the vicinity of the spot where they were and the trench found to blown in. There were, therefore, reported Missing after Action. On February 11th, 1918, the body of Private Sampher, together with those of the other two Scouts, was found by the 149th Machine Gun Company, and they were then reported "Killed in Action."
