Mon histoire

On the 11th of October, the battalion headquarters of the 8th Bn. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) went via Mousetrap Track and Springfield to Victoria Farm. A and B Company of the 8th Bn. Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) went via Mousetrap Trac, Springfield and x-track, while C and D Company went via Alberta and x-tracks. During the night of the 11tth/12th October, there was a gas bombardment by gass shell. 2 casualties were made. On the 12th of October 1917, the First Battle of Passchendaele started. The 9th division was located near the left bank of the Lekkerboterbeek, south of Poelcapelle. The final objective of the day was the purple dotted line, located near Vat Cottages. During the battle on the 12th of October, the Black Watch took Adler farm, and then went on to take the first objective (the yellow dotted line), which was located near Source Trench. George Henry Fearey died on the 12th of October.
