Mon histoire
On the 12th of October 1917 the 48th Battalion A.I.F. together with the 47th Battalion A.I.F. (12th Brigade, 4th Division) took part in the attack on Keiberg Spur. They reached their first objective (Red Line) near Assyria and moved to the second objective (Bleu Line). Since the 3th Division could not advance and due to enemy counter attacks, eventually they had to abandon their positions and had to withdrawal. In the attack C Company was situated right of the Ypres-Roulers railway. The many casualties occurred while working to consolidate the new frontline and during the withdrawal.
