"Previously reported Missing, believed Killed, now Killed in Action." With a comrade, he was at his post in the trenches near the Bluff, when about 10 P.M. on July 27th 1916 an enemy mine was exploded and no trace could later be found of either of these men. (28.I.34.c.75.05.)
