Meine Geschichte
On the 22nd of september 1917 the 11th battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment moved from Ascot Camp to Beggar's Rest near Voormezeele. On the 23rd of september, at 4 p.m., the 11th battalion marched into support in Clonmel Copse. On the 24th of september the 11th battalion took over the front line immediately south of Menin Road, relieving the 8th York & Lancaster Regiment. Throughout the night there were heavy bombardments, during which Charles Stanley Amy was probably killed.
